Hiday & Ricke is very proud of the legal team that we have assembled over the years. All of our attorneys are shareholders in the firm, and each has wide experience in creditors rights litigation.
Jeff began his career in law in 1981 as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Jacksonville first as a trial attorney and then as a Division Chief. He earned both his bachelor’s and law degree from Florida State University and has been admitted to practice before the Federal Court of the Middle District of Florida.
In 1987, he began working for Robert Hiday, P.A, and, in 1988, together they formed Hiday & Ricke, P.A. Jeff is a frequent presenter and lecturer at NASP Education Conferences and is a member of the following organizations:
Jeff has been in private practice since graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 1988. He joined Hiday & Ricke in 1995, became a shareholder in 1998 and the vice president in 2017. With an emphasis on bankruptcy creditor’s rights matters, Jeff specializes in both commercial and bankruptcy law and handles collections cases and subrogation claims.
A member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association, Jeff is admitted to practice before all Federal District Courts in Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Now of counsel attorney for Hiday & Ricke, Rob was an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, before he opened the firm in 1984. A native of Jacksonville, he started his career as a police officer while attending college.
Rob has been admitted to practice before all federal courts statewide. He was an original founder of the Florida Creditors Bar Association in 1997. He holds a law degree from the University of Florida College of Law and has been an active speaker and lecturer for various organizations promoting creditors rights:
Based in Ft. Lauderdale, Melissa is a shareholder who focuses on subrogation matters, including all litigation––from pre-suit through post-judgment recovery. She is a graduate of the William Mitchell College of Law and the University of Central Florida.
Prior to joining Hiday & Ricke in 2009, Melissa was an in-house attorney for an insurance carrier handling both plaintiff’s subrogation and liability defense matters.

Joe is a shareholder based in Plantation, and has been with the firm since 2004. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 1997 and earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center in 2001. Joe has been working in private practice since graduating law school and is licensed to practice law in the following states:
Based in Tampa, Cathy handles all subrogation matters for the firm in the southwestern areas of Florida. She is experienced in all areas of litigation.
A graduate of the University Of Florida College Of Law, Cathy worked in the area of creditor’s rights and subrogation litigation for many years. She previously served as a Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Bank of America and was in charge of all collections litigation in Tampa. She has also amassed experience in the bankruptcy arena and is fully licensed in the Bankruptcy Courts located.
Prior to joining Hiday & Ricke, P.A. in 2005, Jennifer practiced bankruptcy law for 8 years in the Middle District of Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree and Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University. Jennifer attended Samford University, Cumberland School of Law where she earned her law degree in 1997.
Jennifer is on the board of the Florida Creditors Bar Association (FLCBA) and is involved communicating with lobbyists to protect the interests of creditors and collection attorneys throughout the State. At Hiday & Ricke she handles consumer and commercial collection matters as well as insurance subrogation cases. She has the following professional affiliations:
