Summary:
Primarily responsible for entering new case file documentation, updating existing files in the firm’s case management system, and preparing paperwork in order to file suit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews files to ensure the correct figures and language are in the complaint
- Prepares and sends documents to clerk’s office to file suit
- Works with outside parties to serve defendants
- Handles any necessary amendments and files with the courts
- Contact clerk’s office to follow up on complaints
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 – 3 years administrative experience, previous legal assistant experience a plus
- Spanish speaking preferred
Skills & Ability:
- Typing 45+ wpm with less than a 5% error rate
- Intermediate Proficiency Level utilizing Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Web Browser
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume environment
- Ability to work independently as within a team environment
- Ability to adapt to frequent change
- Must possess a positive attitude

Physical Demands:
Prolonged keying and sitting; lifting up to 50 lbs. infrequently; occasional standing and walking
